While we were walking in the alleys of Palais Royal’s gardens in Paris, we had the surprise to discover Thierry Courtadon’s exhibition. This modern sculptor, proud of is origins of the central region Auvergne, is displaying an utterly delicate Volvic stone. The lava blocks are reaching for the sky and lightly impose themselves among fountains and flower-beds. Here, the force of the volcano is perfectly coupling with the arcades built in the 1800s.
This exhibition is part of an effort to register the Chaîne des Puys to the Unesco World Heritage List. In the years to come, the artist will be the ambassador of one of France’s treasure abroad thanks to the association called “Une pierre dans mon jardin” (a stone in my garden). The exhibition lasts until November 23rd, enjoy it while you can 🙂
